Cassie McGettigan is a textile artist, educator, and mom based in Los Angeles, California. She works with surface design and quilting to explore pattern as a means of pleasure, integration, and transmission.
In 2008, she co-founded Gravel & Gold, a design collective and shop in San Francisco. There she learned on the job how to design fabric, produce clothing, curate shows, and host workshops. She went on to receive an MFA in Textiles from the Rhode Island School of Design.
She has taught printmaking and quilting at RISD, the Southwest Print Fiesta, and other artist-run spaces. Her work has appeared in Architectural Digest, on Broad City, and, recently, Cloth: 100 Artists by Lena Corwin.
